live within eight kilometres (five
miles) of work or school, a bicycle is
often the quickest and most efficient
mode of travel. Many cyclists commute
longer distances as well.
Commuting to school or work by
bicycle can become an enjoyable part
of your daily routine. Get a bike
buddy to ride with you so that you
feel safer or are more encouraged to
ride. It’s environmentally friendly
and easy on the pocketbook too.

important to know that bicycles are considered
vehicles according to the
Highway Traffic Act. Legally you must follow
the rules of the road and use common
