What’s up in Orléans? Plenty!
Robert Paiement, Executive
Director of Team Ottawa-Orléans, is
really excited about all the action
and development taking place in the
community. “Did you know about
the new amenities for Petrie Island?”
he asks, mentioning a beach house
building that will include a canteen,
washrooms and more.
Paiement also talks about the
Orléans Arts Centre, which is scheduled
to open by the fall of 2009. The
push for an east-end arts facility
began many years ago and once the
ribbon is cut at this landmark site on
Centrum Boulevard, it will become a
cultural hub for the area.
The focal point of the Orléans
Town Centre plans, the centre will be
a state-of-the-art, 86,000 square foot
facility that features a 500-seat performing
arts centre, a 100-seat studio
theatre, and art gallery and studio
space for the visual arts. When the
entire Orléans Town Centre development
is complete, it will also include
commercial and residential buildings,
as well as a hotel. And it promises to
be the centre of this blossoming
community and make for a vibrant,
pedestrian friendly future.
Convenience, opportunities and
people-friendly service are all part of
the lifestyle here.
