The NAC English Theatre begins the season with Samuel
Beckett’s Happy Days, September 16 to 30. Telling the
story of Winnie, who is buried up to her waist in earth, the
play has been called Beckett’s indomitable celebration of
human persistence.
Later on at the NAC, the Mozart Brahms Festival,
September 26 to 28, features the Tokyo String Quartet and
a performance of The Magic Flute among other works. Call

Two exhibitions are closing this month at the National
Gallery: Comic Relief, closing September 21, looks at
