how treacherous the currents are — “no swimming” and
“danger” signs are clearly posted. (I later found out about
the many shipwrecks that have occurred in the vicinity.)
While I was visiting Point Pelee National Park, I talked
to Trevor McFadyen, the park’s Communications and
Marketing Coordinator. He told me that bike rentals are
available at both the Visitor Centre and at the Marsh
Boardwalk. He also confirmed that it’s very easy to set up

Kingsville;519 733-5976) while I explored both Point Pelee
National Park and Pelee Island.
The park is an ornithologist’s paradise;many are drawn

park’s “migration line” (519 322-2371) is updated daily during
the spring and autumn peaks. The park has recorded an
impressive checklist of more than 370 species and yet it’s
probably best known for its great diversity of songbird. It is
often referred to as “The Warbler Capital of North America.”
One of the park’s most famous hiking trails and bird
