Ottawa Little Theatre presents The Constant Wife
The Constant Wife, a comedy of manners by Somerset Maugham,
is onstage at Ottawa Little Theatre from November 25 to December 15.
Set in the 1920s, this captivating drawing room comedy delivers a
twist after a seemingly secret affair between a woman’s husband and
her friend is revealed. The play was first produced in 1926, with Ethel
Barrymore playing the title role. It ran on Broadway for 295 performances,
and was successfully toured by Ms. Barrymore afterwards. When
the first edition of the play was published in 1927 Maugham dedicated
it to her. Years later, he said her performance was the best he had seen
in any of his plays. Marital revenge has never been so sweet. This is the
first time Ottawa Little Theatre has mounted this production. It’s directed
by Jim McNabb. Showtime is 8 p.m. and there’s a Sunday matinee
December 7 at 2 p.m. Call 613 233-8948 for information and tickets.

want your input to create a new exhibit about the history
of the mill industry in Almonte, in particular the
Rosamond Woolen Company.
Do you know anything
about what was produced, jobs,
deaths that may have occurred,
specific areas of the mill or children
working there? Do you

diaries or materials that deal
with the mill industry in
Almonte? Do you know about anyone who worked in
the Rosamond Woolen Company when it was producing
fabrics? Are you a descendant of a person who worked in
the mill or were you living in Almonte during the time
the mills were in operation? If so, and you would like to
contribute to the showcase, please contact curator
Michael Rikley-Lancaster at 613 256-3754 or at
