Experience life’s pleasures at
Stonehaven Manor
Millie Leonard has a big smile on
her face.
Millie – who’s 91 years young and
doesn’t look a day over 70 – has just
gotten off the glider swing in the
courtyard at Stonehaven Manor when
she stops for a chat. There’s no hesitation
when she’s asked about living at
this attractive residence, located in
Kanata.
“I love it here,” she beams. “It’s
great. Everybody’s nice and friendly.
You couldn’t want for a better place.”
Millie’s heading inside to the lounge
area, where men and women – friends
and neighbours – are visiting before they
head for lunch in the dining room. There’s
a low hum of conversation as people are
seated at inviting round tables and others,
still in the lounge, relax on comfortable
loveseats and chairs.
Just minutes ago, an elegant lady –
a resident – was playing an Irish standard
on the beautiful grand piano.
Life is grand, indeed, at Stonehaven
Manor. A gracious, light-filled, twostorey
building, it’s remarkable for its
idyllic location. It’s tucked into a lush,
treed oasis in the midst of established
Bridlewood. You can walk to the nextdoor
shopping mall, which offers restaurants,
a convenience store and a range
of health services. But when you come
back home to Stonehaven Manor, it
feels like you’re getting away from it all.
The residence is surrounded by natural
woods. In fact, one of the popular pastimes
here is watching and feeding a
family of deer.
Cozy, sun-dappled common rooms
look out on the beautiful natural surroundings.
In one corner of the library,
armchairs are turned towards the big
windows where residents watch Bambi
and friends frolic about. Outdoor sitting
areas allow you to relax in the
tranquil setting and enjoy the view.
Paved walking paths, around the exterior
of the residence, are ideal for a
leisurely stroll.
Across the street there’s a park and
community centre and the residence
itself is built around the beautiful courtyard,
where much time is enjoyed during
fine weather.
Stonehaven Manor is a member of
the Allegro Residences network – and
that shows, in the caring environment
and the personable approach of the
friendly staff members.
Open since the fall of 2004, the residence
has 136 suites including studios,
one and two-bedroom models. Some
have kitchenettes, fireplaces and balconies.There’s
a waiting list for the bigger
suites, so if you’re looking to the future

Caroline Klein has a wonderful
place on the second floor. Big windows
and a balcony overlook the courtyard
and soft light gives this spacious suite –
complete with kitchenette and two
bathrooms – an inviting, homey quality.
There’s room here for her beloved furniture
and mementoes, including a desk
Caroline used for doing homework
when she was a child.
Having lived for years on a treed,
two-acre property, Caroline loves the
forest-like setting and her balcony overlooking
the verdant courtyard. “It’s
home to me,” she smiles.
Folks who live here also appreciate
the dedicated chapel, the activity room,
bustling hair salon, home theatre,
theme events, organized programs and
excursions.
Whether it’s an Asian theme week,
a Tulip Festival celebration, a display of
antique cars for Father’s Day or a barbecue,
residents enjoy a wide variety of
stimulating activities.
Nursing staff is available 24/7 and
assistance is available if required.
It makes for a truly comfortable
environment, where you can experience
life’s pleasures.
