Come see all the exciting new attractions
There’s a new storyteller at Storyland.
Todd Mattila-Hartman of Great North
Parks Corporation has taken over the
reins from John Berkhout, longtime
king of the beloved Ottawa Valley
theme park. It’s a happy new beginning
to what was almost a sad ending.
Last year was to be the final season at
this beautiful kingdom in the forest
near Renfrew – until Mattila-Hartman,
the knight in shining armor, swooped
in to save the day.
How’s that for a fairytale come
true? Storyland is…to be continued.
And it’s also going to be better
than ever.
All sorts of new and exciting
attractions are on the page for 2008,
to complement the park’s many
activities, storybook scenes and natural
beauty. You’ll discover new kids’
rides, a new interactive games room
with air hockey, mini basketball and
skee ball, plus new live entertainment
from across the province. There will
even be tasty new treats offered at
the park this year.
Home to Snow White, Cinderella
and over 200 of their make-believe
friends, Storyland is a place where
memories are made, it’s tea time with
Alice, sounds of laughter fill the air and
smiles light up faces.
Perched on lush wooded hillside,
the 33-acre site is a summer family
tradition for most area families. This
year, you’ll love the busker-style performers,
including musicians, magicians
and jugglers.You’ll also be tickled
with the new daily senior rate, for folks
aged 60 and better. It’s just $9.95
Always famous for the spectacular
view from its Champlain Lookout –
the highest point above the Ottawa
River, Storyland first opened its gates
in 1966. The Berkhouts took over in
the ’70s and since then the scenic site
has transformed into a fun-filled des-
tination with tons of attractions that are
a hit with all ages, from the wee ones to
the young at heart.
Discover the Fairytale Trail and the
Mini Farm, the Dress-Up Theatre and the
Jump ‘N Bounce. There’s a crowd-pleasing
blend of hands-on activities, gentle
forest trails, look-and-see delights and
action-packed thrills. The Splish Splash
water-spray park, 18 holes of mini golf,
the Jungle Gym and Exercise Trail, the
paddle boats, playgrounds and picnic
tables all add to the pleasure.
