Restoring moisture to dry skin
After a morning walk or a few hours on your
feet in the garden, your feet may feel they need
to breathe but they are rough and dry to the
touch.Vaseline Intensive Rescue Hydrating Foot
Cream softens skin with alpha hydroxy acids that
reduce skin’s roughness within five days. Six per
cent glycerin content in the cream increases
moisture on contact. It’s hypoallergenic and sells
for a suggested price of $7.49 a tube.

Government programs
for seniors now online
Taxes, benefits, GIS, OAS? If you
have questions about government
programs for seniors, a new online
newsletter, produced by the federal
agency, Seniors Canada, will
prove useful. Chocked full of information
for those in the over-60 sector
of the population, the newsletter
entitled, “The Latest for
Seniors,” provides information on
such programs as the Guaranteed
Income Supplement (GIS) for lowincome
Old Age
Security (OAS) recipients, the
Allowance for 60- to 64-year-old
spouses or common-law partners
of OAS recipients who also receive
the GIS, and the Allowance for lowincome
60- to 64-year-old widowed
spouses or surviving common-law
partners. Other topics are covered
as well, such as tax savings, elder
abuse, how to access benefits for
low-income seniors, etc. For more
information, visit cra-arc.gc.ca. To
