Food for thought
There is no perfect approach that fits everyone all
the time — you are the expert on yourself and what
works for you
And Mary? What happened with her?
This is what Mary decided to do. She asked herself
why she felt 100 years old and discovered that
she just didn’t take any time for herself: not enough
sleep, not enough time to enjoy each day, too much
on her mind to enjoy making meals or eating. She
decided to cut back on babysitting for her daughter
and started carving out time to rest and replenish her
energy. She saw her doctor about her health problems,
and looked for natural ways to improve sleep.
She now avoids tea and coffee after 2 p.m., she takes
a short walk after dinner, and she takes time for an
easy yoga class each week.
My comments: Because she feels less stressed
and tired than before, Mary doesn’t feel as likely to
overeat. She realizes that losing 40 pounds is a lot. She
honestly thought that anything less would make no difference, but
is now encouraged by the few pounds she
has lost and it has really made a difference in how she

looks and feels. She has set a new goal for now: to lose
10 pounds and then reassess.
The power of small changes: several
small changes can have a positive,
powerful impact on your health —
they can deliver big results.
Remember: It’s a good idea to start with a smaller,
realistic goal. Then it’s always time to decide whether
or not you want to commit to lose more weight.Losing
as little as 10 pounds will improve your health profile
significantly.
