and chocolates, decadent homemade fudge, chocolate
moulds for every occasion, gourmet goods and baskets,
Kawartha Ice Cream, and fresh roasted coffee, including
cappuccino, cafe latte, espresso, and fair-trade coffee.
Lunches are served inside or on the outdoor patio.
The Bloomfield year is filled with interesting events
that bring many tourists to this gem of Ontario. A
Smorgasbord and Silent Auction is held each spring in
April and each fall in October at the Bloomfield United
Church. Craft Fair and Collectibles Sales are held each
month at the Bloomfield United Church. Mid-May is the
weekend for gardeners to head to Bonibrae Daylilies
(613 393-2864) to attend the hosta weekend. The
Bloomfield Area Business Association holds a Garage Sale
at the end of May. The Children’s Fishing Derby in mid-
May is always well attended. Mid-July is the Bloomfield
Breakaway Weekend. An event of the Prince Edward
Jazz Festival is sponsored by the Bloomfield Area Business
Association in mid-August. The Prince Edward County
Annual Studio and Gallery Tour (613 476-7572;
www.pecstudiotour.com), held in September, is the time
when over 70 artists in the region open their doors to visitors.
The Bloomfield Festival of Lights and the
Nighttime Santa Claus Parade is an annual event the last
weekend in November.Twice a month from May through
September, the Bloomfield Area Business Association hosts
the Quarter Moon Café with some of the county’s best
performers, both amateur and professional, who perform
in any style.While you are in Bloomfield, spend some time
at Mill Pond Park and Nyman’s Open Gardens, a testament
to the rich Dutch heritage of the area.
This delightful countryside is filled with many interesting
and scenic places for the visitor to discover. It
would be impossible to list all of the attractions in this
